Hyper Drivers historically have not been great. Not even good. However, it's clear that the path that LSS wants for Maxx is to use them.

When the Armory Deck came out and we saw this crazy looking wrench, everyone wanted to try it. It was miserable.

There was new equipment...it felt clunky.

People started just playing lists that were post High Octane as though the armory deck hadn't even been released.

The new equipment looks memey and frankly most of them don't seem great even via their stats.

What actually makes this deck tick?

Fast and Furious, Crankshaft, and Big Bertha

That's right, I'm running 21 cards dedicated to banishing and keeping my hyper drivers alive.

What did I have to do find space for this?

I cut "good" cards. You won't be seeing any of these cards! (and yes I do own them)

The deck just kind of has to play itself out.

For those living under a rock, Maxx heavily relies on Construct Nitro Mechanoid. It's crucial that you get this out and can play it when you have a chance. It gives you 11 life (5+4+3+2) and the damage on it almost on average turns will let you block for 15 on a turn and attack for 6. That is a soul crushing change in life over a few turns.

Hit the Gas is no High Octane, but it can do something that High Octane cannot do. Hit the Gas in this deck usually will be played when you have around 3 or 4 Hyper Driver in your banished zone.

It also replaces itself. So if you're lucky enough to draw a Zero to Sixty, then you can block with 3 cards + the mech, play this card, and attack for 22. That's an enormous turn of 31 points of value.

You'll need to play the deck a few times to get used to not playing the good cards and it's really counter intuitive to not play Teklo Foundry Heart, although I can see a case to keep it in the inventory for the Cindra, Dracai of Retribution matchup.
